Inspiration.
In 2017, Ella Yoo visited Ontario Lake Park in Rochester, where she briefly sketched the serene landscape using pastels. This moment of inspiration led to the creation of a short pastel sketch, which later evolved into several abstract paintings in 2018. These abstract paintings continued to develop over time and eventually culminated in the Poetic Mind ring in 2022. This ring has now become the signature signet piece of Ella Yoo Jewelry, beautifully capturing the essence of that initial sketch.
The colors from the original canvas were translated into colored stones, and the design was crafted by simplifying the shapes found in her abstract works. The process of evolving this piece from a momentary sketch into a refined jewelry design exemplifies the long-term expansion and development that Ella Yoo Jewelry strives for. Ella Yoo continually engages in a dialogue between her past artistic creations and the present, creating new works through this ongoing conversation. Each piece becomes a part of an ever-expanding narrative.
